This morning  Ashanti visited Good Morning America and I guess she was asked to sing one of Whitney’s songs. Now I didn’t see the initial performance, but by what I saw on twitter it’s like the chile took a shit on Whitney’s resting place by performing her song “I Have Nothing.” I finally got to see the performance and honestly I don’t think she was horrible by Ashanti standards. First off Ashanti isn’t a singer by any means, she’s a good hummer. So by actually trying to sing she did ok for not being a singer. Wait I gotta address this…what’s up with the Pocahontas braid tho? This girl trying to make herself relevant but lawd jesus it never works.

Last was the biggest night in music and  of course  that shit was one of the longest nights of my life. Everyone couldn’t wait to see the Whitney tribute, Adele’s wonderful ass and if Chris Brown and Rihanna would feel up each other on the sly. Yes they actually invited Breezy in the Staple Center this year. Other than that another year, another boring ass award show. Let’s me give you my run down on the good, bad and the NO MA’AM.

The GOOD

Ladies Love Cool James and Cool James Loves the Lord~ One of the best moments and very fitting for the opening of the show. LL came out looking all “rapper in a new suit” and he wanted to send a prayer up for Whitney Houston. I thought that was amazing and brought a tear to my eyes. As you all know we lost a great one and like many others I have been going through it since Saturday night. It was wonderful to see that he said a mass prayer on the Grammy stage. Not sure if the authorized him to do it…you know they don’t allow praying in public no more *America ain’t shit*, but it was refreshing to see him give Auntie Whitney a prayer. Good Job Todd!

Chris Brown Allowed Back In Front of White People ~ Mayne Chris Brown was the happiest black man in the world last night. After being shunned by the white folks after beating the shit out of Rihanna in 2009 he was allowed back to the Grammys 3 years to the date of the incident. Chris’s performance wasn’t all that, but I was so glad to see him jump around the stage like he’s known for. Chris has become a dance performer. He lip syncs his songs, so he has enough energy to jump on rooftops and shit when he’s on stage. I know Rihanna was looking at him and rubbing her legs together to create that fire down below. We all know they still want each other and I have reason to believe Chris hit it on a late night creep after the show last night. BTW Chris did take home a Grammy for his song “Look at me know” in which he thanked the white people who let him back in the circle.

Jay-Z and Kanye won but said “F*ck the Grammys”~ I was so happy that “Otis” won for Best Rap song. I love me some Otis Redding. Shit I even did the Otis scream after it was announced that they won. Of course Jay and Ye didn’t attend. I assume Jay and Beyonce went out to dinner and Kanye was at the crib babysitting Blue Ivy. So they couldn’t make it to the award show. I know Amber-Rose was disappointed cause she wanted to see Kanye’s ass one more time to beg for him back. Ye didn’t want to see Taylor Swift cause…well you know how awkward that shit gets every year.

Frankie Lymon…I mean Bruno Mars stuck in another Era~ I like Bruno he did a good job with his performance. Although I don’t listen to his songs like that, he kept me interested. The whole doo whop artist thing in 2012 is unrelatable for some, but I can dig it. Ya’ll saw his face when he lost his first award. Man he was jumping up and down and I can only imagine he screamed “FUCKKKKKKKKKKK” when he did it. It’s ok Bruno you stood no chance next to my main bitch ADELE.

ADELE WON EVERY DAMN CATEGORY KNOWN TO MAN…EVEN THE IOWA CAUCUS~ The love of my life took all the damn awards. Every last one and probably categories she wasn’t even nominated for this year. If you’ve slept on Adele chile you ain’t bout shit. Adele is life! She’s has a black woman’s soul trapped in her white body. I love her so much, and she deserved every award she received. The thing about her is she’s so humble. No attitude, no frills just pure talent. That shit is missing nowadays. Adele girl I am so happy and proud of you and you’re rising to higher heights. Trust and believe by the end of this week “21″ will sell mad ass copies for these late ass newcomers who only just listened to her because of the Grammys.

The Bad

Gaga wore a weave net on her face~ No one went Goo Goo for Gaga last night. It’s like she didn’t really exists. With Adele being the center of attention and the tragedy with Nippy, Gaga just simply fell back. I’m not sure why in the hell she wore the weave net over her face, but hey that’s Gaga. That bitch does the strangest shit. Why was I surprised anyway? Da hell was wrong with me? SMH

Rihanna channels Tina Turner and Fadda Bogle~ Rihanna sported her new blonde hair looking all Tina Turner private dancer-ish. I like Rihanna’s hair tho. No matter what she does with it, she makes it work. I just need to know am I the only one that noticed Rih lost a lot of weight? I mean all her hips and shit are gone. All that damn weed she smoking slimming her ass down. Gawd I hope it’s only weed, but with her ass you never know what the deal really is. The performance was ok. It wasn’t the best cause Rih can’t really sing but she started doing the wacky dip and shit looking sorta awkward. I need this girl to learn how to dance. You caribbean chile that shit suppose to come natural. Move like you got some life in your body. Channel Patra not Lil Kim. Like you wanna be from the islands but grew up in Brooklyn and shit. That’s why I rated you bad, other than that loved the dress and the hair girl.

The “Whitney Tribute”~ Lawd please don’t kill me. I know this was thrown together at the last minute and whatnot, but I did not think JHud should have did the tribute. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it. The “tribute” didn’t move me in no kind of way. I’ve been crying since Saturday about Whitney’s demise and I just didn’t feel nothing about this performance. She tried her best, but it just didn’t work for me. I guess I expected a little more or maybe I was distracted by JHud’s lacefront that was lifting on the side. I heard folks on twitter mentioned it looked like she was wearing those football pad to make her look thicker than she appeared. I had to rewind it back and I saw that shit. Anyway, at least the Grammys had someone perform.

The No Ma’am

Nicki Minaj worshiping the damn devil on tv~ I am not…repeat NOT a fan of Nicki Minaj and last night the coffin was closed on that hoe. This bitch got on tv and basically worshipped the damn devil and CBS was ok with that? That’s why this hoe walked in with a red cloak on and a dude dressed as the Pope. Her performance was basically an exorcism and this hoe taught that was ok? Bringing that Illuminati bullshit for us to view? Look whatever or whoever you worship is your business, but don’t subject my ass to your evil. Nicki is trying so hard to be the next Gaga that she lost the whole meaning of rap. This bitch gone left field and no one is gonna tell her better. This fools letting this hoe walk around looking like a f*cking fool. I will not post any Nicki related material on my site cause that bitch is evil. Her performance was the worst shit of the night and the only No Ma’am I’m gonna address. F*ck Nicki Minaj’s wack ass.

The award show was long and half of the time I was bored. All I really did was think about Whitney while I prayed for Bobbi Kristina. I would have loved for Chaka and Miss Patti to perform for the Whitney tribute, but they got JHud. Chaka tweeted that she was too emotional and wouldn’t think it would be “inappropriate” to do the performance. I was happy that Chris won and was no longer a part of segregation. Only being able to perform on black award shows. Happy that my girl Adele took every last thing the academy had to give.

Ironically watching the “Preacher’s Wife” on On Demand and my phone rings. It’s my sister telling me something, but I couldn’t understand her because the reception sounded bad. I hang up and called her back and she immediately said “Whitney Houston is dead.” My heart stopped. I thought I heard wrong. I screamed “WHAT!!” She said it again “Whitney’s dead turn on CNN.” I did and found the truth right on my tv screen. Legendary singer, actress, icon Whitney Houston was dead at the age of 48. I immediatly started crying, I was in shock, dismay I just couldn’t believe it.

For those of you that grew up listening to Whitney understand the severity of this tragic moment. Whitney was EVERYTHING TO EVERYONE. She is one of the original DIVAS in the industry and to lose someone like her is just heart wrenching and devastating. I cannot count how many of her songs has touched my soul. This reminds me of when Michael Jackson died. It feels like a member of my family has passed away. No matter how negative people are over Whitney and her death she will always be the QUEEN. No one and I mean no one could/can SANG like Ms. Whitney. No one at all. She will be truly missed and we know that she’s in the kingdom of heaven resting in God’s heavenly embrace.

Blue Ivy already cut an album. The creole princess of all things beautiful and the hood dude turned mogul was finally introduced to their daughter Blue Ivy Carter on Saturday and the proud papa already got a song dedicated to his little girl. The song “Glory“ basically tells the story of her parents struggles to get to this point. You even find out some shit you didn’t know. I’m so happy for them and I can’t wait to see Blue Ivy. I know she’s gonna be beautiful…she’s a child of God. Screw all you hating ass haters.

Yesterday a hip- hop icon passed away. Heavy D aka the overweight lover passed away at the age of 44 yesterday in Los Angeles, CA. Heavy was not only a great artist, but he was also a great actor. Just last month Heavy D surprised the masses and performed at the BET Hip- Hop Awards. He also guest starred on a very moving episode of Law and Order SVU. I was so glad to see him back on the scene doing his thing. We all know that our time on earth is but for a time, so we have to live our lives to the fullest. Although, I never had the opportunity to meet Heavy D he seemed like one of the most genuine people to ever to work in this corrupt industry. When it’s your time your status in society doesn’t matter. Death doesn’t care if your 99 or 29, when it’s your time it’s your time. It’s the impact that you have had on others that will keep your legacy alive.

Rihanna has brought out the video to her new single “We Found Love” and of course honey chile is causing controversy again. The video shows Rih and a blonde high yella fella that kinda really favors Chris Brown, but obviously the hair color symbolizes when Chris was going through his Zack Morris blonde ambition phase. I love the video because it symbolizes love as a drug. It shows the great parts of the love game, and when it all goes to shit. That’s how our relationships get sometimes. One minute we’re on this unbelievable high, then the next we’re at the lowest of the low. Then you relize you were strung out on the feeling of love when it was actually destroy who you were.
